Bridgehead Business Park

A business park… with the emphasis on park

Introduction

Bridgehead is a new generation business park, setting new standards for commercial space. Situated at the very heart of the Humber region, with fast, easy access to the country’s motorway network, this ‘greenest’ of green commercial hubs offers a superb, sustainable base for any business.

Occupying 50 acres on the western edge of Kingston upon Hull, Bridgehead has the capacity for 612,000 sq.ft. (56,856 sq.m.) of high quality business space for use as offices, research and development facilities and high tech manufacturing.

The first phase has seen a number of new buildings developed for some of the Region’s leading businesses including Victoria Plum, Beal Homes, Rofin Sinar, John Good Group SGS International, IT Spectrum and most recently Centrica.

Access to and from Bridgehead is excellent. Overlooking the world famous Humber Bridge, the business park sits at the cross roads of the Humber Region, adjacent to the key A164 Beverley-Hull-Humber Bridge route and the A63, providing direct access to the M62 and the motorway network. Hull’s huge port complex, offering global shipping and freight connections, and a passenger ferry terminal is just a 15-minute drive from Bridgehead, while the Humber Bridge provides a direct link to the A15 into Lincolnshire and the ports of Grimsby and Immingham via the M180.

By road, London (M25) is little more than three hours, Leeds less than an hour and Newcastle just two hours. Hull’s Transport Interchange offers rail and coach links to all parts of the UK while Humberside International Airport is just 15 minutes away.

Environment

Bridgehead will be one of the UK’s greenest business parks, enabling businesses to exist side-by-side with the natural environment. The preference for a low-density development has meant that more than 40 per cent of the site benefits from landscaping, ensuring a pleasant, healthier environment for employees and visitors alike.

Wykeland have developed a biodiversity strategy in partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust who are now managing the strategy to improve the ecological value of the park. A sustainable drainage system is in place to discharge 100% surface water via natural soakaways and a sustainable travel initiative set up to promote alternative means of transport including bus services, electric car charging points and facilities to encourage cycling and walking.

We are also implementing sustainable technologies into the construction of all buildings at Bridgehead.

Design

Each building at Bridgehead can be individually designed ensuring companies secure the business space they need and want to fit their bespoke requirements.

Bridgehead can offer a wide range of high quality space and delivery options.

Our development team will work with you to create an excellent workspace built to the highest quality architectural and sustainable standards. Developments already completed have achieved “BREEAM Very Good” and EPC ‘A’ Ratings.

Bridgehead Business Park also has a resilient high-speed fibre connectivity solution, Business Lightstream, which has been installed by our communications partner KC and offers occupiers super-fast broadband via a diverse supply.

As well as the amenity woodland and nature trail, Bridgehead offers an onsite children’s nursery and has food and hotel options close by. A permanent onsite food service is in the pipeline.

Community

We have been working in partnership with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust to ensure there is little impact on existing habitats as well as extensive work to create new space to encourage further local wildlife. Preserving and enhancing landscapes in this scheme has been a serious investment and a valuable consideration that we hope will flourish in the future. YWT have been leading nature walks for Bridgehead employees and children in the Tiptoes Nursery.

We have also set up a local schools engagement initiative with Hessle High and All Saints Juniors which has seen pupils design and manufacture artistic “homes for nature” and undertake a number of site visits to learn about the construction of buildings and the range of careers and skills involved.
