Rofin Sinar has taken possession of its new 80,000 sq ft office, research and development and hi-tech manufacturing facility following practical completion in early May.
It is the largest building developed at Bridgehead by Wykeland to date and was built by Havercroft Construction, the Briggbased commercial contractor.
Work is now progressing on Rofin Sinar’s internal fit-out to create offices, clean rooms for research and development and production space for the company’s award-winning laser products. The company manufactures a wide range of sealed CO2 lasers and power supplies for industrial processing and marking applications. Its lasers are employed in a broad spectrum of industries including automotive, aerospace, packing, electronics and in a wide variety of applications involving cutting, drilling, welding, marking of plastics, metal, fabrics and ceramics.
Rofin Sinar expect to undertake a phased relocation from their existing premises in Willerby with the first departments and employees moving over in Autumn this year. Stephen Hudson, Development Director at Wykeland said “It has been a pleasure doing business with Rofin Sinar. From the very start, the company was very clear what it wanted and we were able to deliver a bespoke new building on time and budget. This successful partnership approach will now enable Rofin to invest, expand and ultimately create over 60 new jobs in East Yorkshire.”
